Overview

BookLyt provides personalized tutoring and mentoring services designed to connect students with qualified tutors and mentors (“Tutors”). Our Services may include:

  • One-on-one tutoring and mentoring

  • Group sessions and workshops

  • Tutor matchmaking and evaluation

  • Educational resources and progress tracking

BookLyt operates as a private educational platform and is not an accredited academic institution.

Eligibility

You must be:

  • At least 18 years old to create a parent/guardian or tutor account; or

  • A parent or guardian providing consent for a student under 18.

By using our Services, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and current.

Services & Matchmaking Process

When a student joins BookLyt, we begin with a personal consultation to understand the student’s learning goals, strengths, and preferences. Based on this information, we curate a small group of qualified Tutors, and the family selects the best fit.

BookLyt reserves the right to recommend, assign, or replace Tutors as needed to ensure quality and availability. Tutor assignments are subject to scheduling, expertise, and the student’s evolving needs.

Tutor Qualification & Conduct

All BookLyt Tutors are carefully selected based on academic credentials, teaching experience, and interpersonal skills. While we thoroughly screen and train Tutors, BookLyt is not responsible for the content of sessions or specific academic outcomes.

Tutors agree to maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and clear communication with families. Parents/guardians must supervise minors’ engagement and communication with Tutors as appropriate.

Scheduling and Sessions

Sessions are scheduled based on mutual availability using BookLyt’s calendar tools.

Cancellations: BookLyt requires at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations may be charged in full.

Lateness: Tutors will wait up to 15 minutes for students to arrive. After that, the session may be marked as completed.

Make-Up Sessions: We make reasonable efforts to reschedule missed sessions due to illness or emergency.

BookLyt reserves the right to modify scheduling policies at any time.

Group Sessions

BookLyt offers free weekly group sessions for current students. These sessions are intended for practice, review, and enrichment—not individualized instruction.

We may limit participation to maintain quality. Group sessions are not recorded unless explicit notice and consent are provided.

Billing

BookLyt offers paid tutoring plans and packages, billed securely through third-party processors (e.g., Zelle, Venmo, PayPal).

Payment Terms:

  • All fees must be paid in advance unless otherwise specified.

  • All payments are non-refundable once sessions are completed.

  • Late payments or failed transactions may result in suspended access until resolved.

We reserve the right to adjust pricing and plans with prior notice.

Refunds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and granted only in exceptional circumstances (e.g., verified technical issues or Tutor unavailability).

Student Conduct

We expect all students to:

  • Attend sessions on time and prepared.

  • Communicate respectfully with Tutors and staff.

  • Use BookLyt’s platform, tools, and materials appropriately.

Repeated disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in suspension or termination of Services.

BookLyt provides tutoring and mentoring to supplement formal education, not replace it. We make no guarantees of specific academic outcomes, grades, or test results.

Our goal is to help students build skills, confidence, and curiosity — but progress depends on participation, effort, and consistent engagement.

Intellectual Property

All materials, branding, and content provided by BookLyt are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may use these materials only for personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify BookLyt content without written permission.

Tutors retain ownership of their original teaching materials but grant BookLyt a non-exclusive license to use such materials for educational purposes within the platform.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • BookLyt, its directors, employees, and Tutors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services.

  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for Services in the preceding three months.

You agree to hold BookLyt harmless from claims arising from misuse, miscommunication, or unauthorized use of our Services.

Termination

Either party may terminate Services at any time by written notice. Upon termination, any outstanding balance becomes immediately due.

BookLyt reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, inappropriate behavior, or misuse of our platform.

Updates to Terms

BookLyt may update these Terms periodically. The revised version will be posted on our website with a new effective date. Continued use of the Services after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
